Can you please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?
I have been waiting for the Dockstarting sport all my life!

How did you first get introduced to pumpfoiling?
INDIANA, Gunnar Biniasch, Steve Fleury, Coalsurfco (the master shaper of Zürich 😉


Journey into Pumpfoiling

What attracted you to pumpfoiling in the first place?
You can always do it in Zürich, every day, not depending on anything but a board, foil, mast, fuse, stab and a wetsuit.

Can you describe your first experience with pumpfoiling?
Awesome!

How long did it take you to become proficient?
7 days, each day 4 hours practice, two in the morning, two in the afternoon. Then the start kept coming along well 😉


Challenges

What was the biggest challenge you faced when learning to pumpfoil?
Only joy!

Have you ever had any accidents or close calls?
No thank you!

What advice would you give to beginners?
No expectations, no ambition. I tell that to all my students.

What keeps you going in the sport?
The community, and teaching the sport.

Do you have any specific goals or milestones you’re aiming for?
SUPfoil is next 😉

Are you involved in any other water sports or activities?
Wingfoil, SUPfoil, Windsurf, Kitesurf, Swimming, Sailing, Surfing, Wakesurfing, etc.

How do other sports or activities complement your pumpfoiling?
Basic Fitness like swimming matters. Do it every day.

Can you talk about your gear? What do you recommend for beginners?
1100 P, 75 Mast (alu), Hydroskate, 420 Fuse, all by INDIANA.

How important is the role of technology in pumpfoiling?
Very big. Designs matter a lot!

A lot. Changed my life.
