Next Wave – Your Boat Wake Surfing Companion

Built in under 10 hours from a fun “beer idea” in a group chat, Next Wave is here to revolutionize wave foiling on Lake Zurich! If you would like to test the app before it appears in the App Store, here is the link:

How it was made:

I developed the app with near to no experience with programmming using Cursor and Xcode, and the app icon was created with ChatGPT. The most time-consuming part was manually entering the boat schedule data into a spreadsheet, as there was no publicly available data. Getting the app ready for the App Store also took some extra effort.

Over the past few weeks, I had been working on another app project, which taught me a lot about how to work efficiently with AI tools. That experience helped me complete Next Wave much faster than I could have otherwise.

Open Source and Community-Driven:

Next Wave is open source and available on GitHub for anyone who wants to contribute, improve it, or adapt it to other regions.

Currently available for Lake Zurich, Switzerland. Stay safe and never miss a wave again!

I started pumpfoiling in 2022 and it has quickly become one of my favorite watersports beside Stand Up Paddling. Living in Zurich, Switzerland gives me plenty of opportunities to hit the water and practice my skills. When I'm not on the water, I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing my passion for aerial photography. As an ambassador for Indiana Paddle Surf and Restube, I love promoting the benefits of these great brands and sharing my experiences with others. Pumpfoiling has not only become a fun and challenging workout for me, but it has also opened up a whole new world of adventure and excitement.
