About you
When you started pump foiling? | 30 August, 2024 |
Where are you based? | Nova Scotia, Canada |
About you | I bought a 2019 Naish setup with a Kt Drifter board for learning to foil behind my Seadoo and got hooked on foiling. I started leaning towards the pump side of the sport and decided to try to dockstart my setup. It’s not an ideal setup to dockstart but I got a few pumps out of it before falling. After that it’s all I could think about and I stumbled upon my dream foil setup that another foiler was parting with while browsing local classifieds. A 2024 Armstrong APF 1675, Glide 220 stab, TC60 fuse and the 725 Performance mast. Picked it up for a steal. I was drooling over the Ensis Hip Hop Pro since finding it so I paired the foil with that board and it is a great combination, super light and super stiff. I have a long way to go but there’s nothing like the feeling of foiling |

Objectives
Your objective for this year | I want to be able to pump for 1 minute and get my wake thief hat. |
Your best session | It was my last session of 2024, mid November just before they pulled the last dock of for the winter. There are some posts about 40m from the dock. In my early sessions I dreamed of just making it out to the post. After a few sessions of getting the hang of the foil and making some good runs I was able to make it out to the post, then after a few more I made it out and around the post and I gassed out about 3m from the dock. I didn’t think I would progress that much before I had to stop for the winter but making it out and back was huge for me. Can’t wait to get back in the water. |
Your tip for others | You get back what you put in. |
Foil Pumping Spots
The best foil pumping spot for you | The best right now is at my local boat launch/marina. They have a nice dock with a swim ladder. |
The most beautiful foil pumping spot | Ponhook Lake |
The foil pumping spot where you struggle the most | All of them right now haha |
